The Jews of Biržai

2400 Jews were killed on August 8, 1941 in Biržai, Lithuania and until now, they were all but forgotten. The narrative is essential in remembering the Jews of Biržai as the story reveals their once bucolic existence in a small Lithuanian shtetl between World Wars, peaking as their normal lives were turned into a nightmare when the Nazis invaded their town in the summer of 1941. Told through the eyes of the inhabitants, the reader will see them as real people with names, lives, families, faces, stories, and hopes and dreams, not just as statistics. The Jews of Biržai will reveal incredible survival stories and acts of compassion from righteous neighbors.
